"Stopover in Calcutta" (India - September 17, 2003)

Thanks for lifting up my training opportunities this week. I was able to train a group of local Manipuri church planters this week that will be going into unreached villages that we outsiders are not even allowed in! The students were VERY responsive and said the training was just what they needed.

We wrapped things up in Manipur on Tuesday with some sweet farewells to the leadership there. We worked with them to develop a comprehensive strategy to spread the gospel among the unreached there. They invited me back to do a training early next year for a much larger group of leaders.

I'm in Calcutta today. Met with a young man that was a former Hindu, as well as the rest of his family. After his father accepted Christ on a GMF campaign, he was martyred by some Hindu radicals last year. The son accepted Christ AFTER his father was killed! Today we met with him to pray with him and encourage him. He got us into a Hindu school/orphanage where we preached the gospel to some children that had never seen a bible and had no idea who Jesus was! We're purchasing bibles for them and left some evangecubes that explain the gospel.
Tomorrow we're flying out to Bangladesh to meet with some church planters there. Please pray heavily as we'll be traveling out into Muslim villages to share the gospel and train the underground churches there on biblical leadership and church planting. Pray for our safety and that God would open many doors.
