"Mission Accomplished" (South Asia - September 2003)

  • It’s GREAT to be home again! I arrived in Atlanta late Sunday night and took yesterday to recoup and get back on schedule (30+ hours in a plane and adjusting your internal clock by 10 hours can be challenging). I wanted to thank you for your prayers and support over the last two weeks and inform you of some of the great things that the Lord accomplished.

*** the following information should NOT be shared with others for security reasons – please don’t discuss with others the locations/countries/dates of my work in South Asia – failure to comply could result in the work there being hampered severely. *****

    Goals for this trip:
    1. Establish a unified strategy to help Christian leaders in East India to plant churches among the Hindu majority Meitei tribe.
    2. Meet with long-term Baptist missionaries from South Asia to coordinate a unified strategy and future mobilization of volunteers.
    3. Meet with the underground Church (former Muslims that have converted) for edification and strategy that will fuel the number of converts.
    4. Encourage and equip leaders that will lead leaders as the gospel spreads throughout East India and South Asia.

Things God accomplished through us on this trip:
  • 20 GMF missionaries trained in San Diego on principles of Church Planting and Cross-cultural leadership development that will be reproduced in over 20 Middle Eastern/Asian countries.
  • 20+ East Indian Christian evangelists trained in East India on principles of Church Planting and the Biblical model for reproductive disciple-making.
  • 12 South Asian Christian evangelists trained on principles of Church Planting and the Biblical model for reproductive disciple-making.
  • Coordination of a unified strategy among 4 different agencies to reach the Meitei tribe in East India.
  • Met with SBC missionaries and are working on a strategic partnership to funnel short-term volunteers into South Asian countries.
  • Prayed with and encouraged the persecuted Church in both India and South Asia
  • Planned an equipping tour for North and East India where I will train hundreds of Indian church planters in Feb/Mar (2004).
  • Planned a return trip to South Asia for October 2004 that will include mass bible distribution and a leadership development conference that will impact over 200,000 muslim background believers (MBB’s) that have converted in the last several years.
