Yesterday and today over 200 of you joined me in praying that God would supernaturally intervene at the South Asia Embassy so that they would grant my visa. I must admit to you that this was a great learning experience for me – and a reminder of what everyday life was like when we lived in Pakistan! Last night I had friends call and visit to pray with me. This morning I was at the doctor’s office and I had a male nurse from Nigeria taking my blood, and when he learned that I was a missionary, he stopped and clasped my hands praying “Daddy, bless dis one dat serves you by taking your precious gospel to dose dat need it. Many years back dey brought it to my country and I got it. Now Daddy, do dis ting dat only you can do and do it in de name of my Lord Jesus.” Wow . . . I had never been prayed for like that before.
I arrived home a few minutes ago and phoned the Embassy having placed all this into the Father’s hands being content to rearrange my plans if it be for God’s glory. However, KA at the Embassy said, “Look here, the Indian Embassy placed their stamp on the wrong page . . . I suppose we can do it too. You’ll receive your visa tomorrow.” I responded, “Are you sure?” as if he might change his mind. And he said those oh so familiar words that cross every culture . . . “No problem.”
So join me now dear prayer force in giving glory to our God that reigns on high for he has within His mighty grip the minds of men, and rulers, and authorities. Thank you for your commitment to pray . . . keep it up using the prayer calendar I sent. (If you haven’t received a South Asia Prayer calendar that outlines my trip and how to pray each day, respond to this e-mail requesting one and I’ll get it to you.)
